My first job was decorating cakes. This left me with a love of frosting and crumbly cakes. After years of baking for friends and family, in 2017, I was told to "avoid gluten". It still took a while until we knew it was Celiac, and this was how I had to live. Suddenly every cookie, every birthday cake, and every warm from the oven brownie was off-limits. I tried to buy it in-store, but it was always different. I started thinking - "It can't just be me missing the flavor of a gooey chocolate chip cookie." So I set out to recapture the flavors and textures I remembered.
Owasso Sweets was created to share the results of my trial and error. All of our products are made using alternative flours. While the gluten may be gone, the flavors you know and love are still going strong. Our menu is constantly being updated, so check back often.
Being gluten-free doesn't have to mean sacrificing flavor or texture.
